Eddy Van Den Broeke is the chairman of Greenville Oil & Gas Co. Ltd, a pioneer of Nigeria mini LNG production plant situated in Rumuji, Emohua LGA of Rivers State.
The plant which is expected to commence operation before the end of 2018 with the first two trains and a production capacity of 40mmscf/d each. The project is expected to benefit the state and Nigeria by bridging the gas supply gap to local industries and stranded power plants without access to piped gas.
Eddy is a trained Engineer, with an engineering degree from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, a degree in marketing from the Ecoles des Cadres in Lausanne, Switzerland and a PhD, in European Studies from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium.
Eddy Van Den Broeke, an astute businessman with dogged determination for charting new courses, with his foray into the Nigerian business world in 1996, he founded and ran successfully the ASCA group which was the largest supplier of Bitumen in Nigeria with a market share of over 90%. He is credited with stabilizing the bitumen market and the success of the PTF road projects.
In 2015 he divested from the bitumen business after 20 years and founded Greenville Oil & Gas Co. Ltd, with the sole aim of intervening in the domestic LNG market to support Government’s effort in focussing more on the gas potential of Nigeria.
